Description :
Moxifloxacin ophthalmic solution 0.5% is a sterile ophthalmic solution. It is an 8-methoxy fluoroquinolone anti-infective for topical ophthalmic use.
Pharmacology :
Moxifloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell replication.
Indications :
Moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis.
How to use :
To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. Remove contact lenses before applying the eye drops. Wait at least 10 minutes after using Mflotas before inserting contact lenses.
Precautions :
This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions.
